Bob Washington's Story

Meet Bob!

You may not consider Blind and Independent to be in the same description for a dog, but Bob is exactly that. He is a 8-year-old, 37 lb beagle who was found as a stray and seems to have managed fairly well on his own for some time, so he is well adapted to his loss of vision.

Bob is a sweet, friendly guy, who enjoys making human and dog friends alike. He loves to explore with his nose, so either a fenced in yard or walks with time to sniff is a must, followed by a soft bed for a post-walk nap. He is working on his leash manners, as he can be strong when he finds something of great interest to smell.

He gets around his foster home well, knows where to find the water dish, his crate, favorite dog bed, and even the door when he wants to be let out, or let back in.

Since he relies so strongly on his nose, he is very food motivated, will be your assistant in the kitchen, and will locate any and every potential source of food.

Bob's Webpage - (copy and paste)
https://beaglemaryland.org/2025/10/12/bob-10/

Adoptable Dog Webpage: https://beaglemaryland.org/adopt/

If you'd like to adopt one of our beagles:
*Go to our Website https://beaglemaryland.org/
*Review our Standards for Adoption - https://beaglemaryland.org/adoptionstandards/
*Fill out an Adopter Profile -
https://beaglemaryland.org/application/
and submit it to us through the site (or print it off, fill it in and send it via regular mail, if you prefer)
*A BRSM volunteer will contact you to guide you through the rest of the process!

We hope to hear from you, and so do the beagles!
