True to his legendary name, Bob lives by one simple rule: every little thing is gonna be alright. He moves through life on island time, bringing irie energy wherever he goes. Bob is affectionate, people focused, joyful, and emotionally intuitive. He spreads happiness without trying. His tail keeps the beat, his expressive eyes tell whole stories, and his presence alone can lift the mood of a room. If love had a soundtrack, Bob would be on repeat.
Track 1: Redemption Song
When Bob Marley arrived at the shelter, he was buried beneath severe matting and thick dreadlocks that were painfully caked with urine, feces, and filth. Every tug of his coat caused discomfort. Volunteers removed what they safely could, and at his professional grooming appointment, Bob was shaved all the way down so he could finally feel relief.
And underneath it all was a gentle, trusting dog with natural mystic energy who never stopped believing in people. His beautiful coat grew back. His heart was always gold.
Track 2: Is this Love?
Bob is a classic velcro dog. He wants to know where his people are at all times and prefers to be wherever they are—kitchen, living room, bathroom, anywhere. Closed doors are mildly offensive, and he may whine briefly in protest. When crated, he might voice his opinion for a minute or two but settles quickly and relaxes.
Track 3: Sun is Shining
Bob wakes around 8am, stretching out of his crate after sleeping soundly through the night. Mornings begin with a few happy zoomies before heading into the yard for potty time. He sometimes needs a few minutes to fully finish his business, then it is back inside for his morning meds (best served with cheese, in Bob’s opinion) and breakfast. He prefers his special kibble topped with something extra, because Bob believes meals should feel like a celebration.
After breakfast, he settles briefly before heading out for a walk with his foster sister, an 11 lb Maltipoo. Bob walks beautifully on a harness, happily matching her pace, waiting politely while she sniffs, and never pulling or reacting to dogs, squirrels, or birds. He may grab the leash in excitement but he responds well to gentle redirection.
Back home, it is playtime. Bob loves toys— especially balls. If it is round, he needs it. He also enjoys tug and will happily entertain himself with a toy if his foster sibling prefers her own space. Bob understands doggy body language beautifully. If another dog asks for space, he respects it and moves along. He can coexist calmly with another easygoing dog and has even been spotted napping side by side on the couch.
His current routine includes midday crate time while his foster parents rest for night shift work. Bob handles this beautifully, resting from about 12–3pm, enjoying afternoon time with foster dad, then another short crate break before evening play, dinner, and his final round of meds around 10pm. If someone is home, Bob happily roams, alternating between playful bursts and cozy couch naps. He has a wonderful off-switch after he has gotten his energy out.
Track 4: Could you be Loved
When Bob first arrived, he was extremely curious and overwhelmed by all the newness. He sniffed every inch of the house and had trouble settling that first night. Within a few days, once he realized he was safe, his nervous energy melted away. Now he is confident, playful, and comfortable in his routine.
Bob is very playful and energetic in short bursts—zoomies, tug sessions, ball chasing—followed by blissful lounging. He will dig at the couch cushions to create the perfect nap nest, then curl up contentedly beside his person. He does not bark, even at the mail carrier. He is housetrained as long as he is given regular opportunities to go outside and will use a potty pad if needed, though he prefers the outdoors.
Bob is tender, expressive, and deeply loving. He does not just want a home. He wants to belong.
Track 5: No Woman, No Cry
Bob Marley has epilepsy and is on medication that he will need to remain on for life. His condition is currently managed and does not stop him from being joyful, affectionate, and full of life. This is simply part of his story, not what defines him.
Final Track: One Love
Bob Marley is the kind of dog who changes a home. He brings joy, warmth, and positive vibrations wherever he goes. His idea of a perfect world includes one couch, one family, and a whole lot of love.
One dog. One home. One love.
