Bob - Long Coat - Senior's Story

This dog is being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas or North Central Texas area.

NAME: Bob
GENDER: Male (neutered)
AGE: About 11 years
WEIGHT: About 6.9 pounds
DOGS/CATS: Good with other small dogs, Unknown with cats
CHILDREN: Should be fine with older, mature children (10 and older)
OTHER: Long Coat

Meet Bob. Bob is super sweet and is an example of a laid back lovable guy who wants to find a BFF to hang with! He is definitely an adorable little man and is looking for a forever family to snuggle with.

Bob has lived with the same family his entire life. Unfortunately Bob’s original Mom has entered a nursing facility. She can no longer care for Bob, and the family is not able to help. So they approached CRT asking if we would help find him a new home. CRT has agreed to bring Bob into our program. We adore seniors, especially ones as sweet as this boy. Bob is safe in a CRT foster home. We have just updated all his vet work (including a blood panel and a full dental) and Bob is ready for his forever home.

Bob has a laid back personality and is wise beyond his years. His favorite thing in the world is his humans. Bob loves to sit on your lap and cuddle for hours a day. Bob follows his foster parents everywhere and gives them the most adoring looks. If you work from home, he would love hanging in your office during the day. Bob will follow you from room to room to make sure he does not miss out on anything. But note, he can be a tripping hazard, so his new family will want to be aware of this.

Bob is a little shy when he meets you, but warms up quickly. He has a medium activity level which is just perfect! Bob’s favorite thing is to sit on his Foster Mom or Dad’s lap and have his back rubbed as they watch TV together. If you are looking for a laid back, loyal companion – Bob is perfect. He wants to volunteer to be your best friend.

Bob is independent and quiet. He gets along with the other small dogs in his foster home, but basically ignores them. He does not actively play with his siblings. We believe he would be fine as an only dog, or with another small dog companion. He was an only dog in his first home, so we know he enjoys being the center of attention and love. Bob has one favorite toy that he LOVES. It is a white tiger plush toy. He carries it everywhere. Mr Tiger will be accompanying Bob into his new home!

Bob is about 11 years old. He is very healthy and has a long life ahead of him (small dogs can live to be 15 – 20 years old). He weighs 6.9 pounds which is just right for him. Bob has a beautiful long flowing black coat with a little white on it. We are wondering if he has some papillon in him because of his beautiful flowing coat around his ears and his tail. We just got Bob groomed and he looks amazing! We have gone all out on his vet work (incluing a full dental). Bob is super healthy (no signs of heart issues, etc) and acts younger than his age!

Bob is still working on his potty training, but he’s learning quickly with consistency and positive reinforcement. He does go outside when we take him out and he is using potty pads as a back up plan. At night, he sleeps quitely in a dog bed inside of an ex-pen. He would also love to sleep with his humans – he loves to snuggle in bed with you. We have not tested him on a harness and leash yet, but we will do that shortly and update his bio.

A perfect home will be one that is laid back with moderate activity. Bob is very quiet. He occasionally lets out a soft whine when he wants a little extra attention — it’s his way of saying “Hey, I love you!”. Bob would love being an only dog where he could get all the attention and love. He is so loyal. It warms our heart to see how much he craves human love and cuddles. But he would do well with another small dog too as he fits right into the pack. There are no children in his foster home. We think he would be fine with older children (10 and older). But know that he is not the type of dog who wants to run and play with kids. He would rather watch TV with them – LOL.

Bob is being fostered in the Dallas, Texas area. If he sounds like the new best friend you’ve been looking for, please fill out an application! Our CRT adoption form can be found at: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/

Bob is neutered, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative and on heartworm prevention. He is ready to join a loving family – could that family be yours?

This dog is a CRT rescue. Reference checks, adoption contract and $250.00 adoption donation required. (If you would like to donate more or do a birthday fundraiser for CRT to help offset his dental cost, that would be a blessing!)

As part of our mission to reduce the number of unwanted and sick dogs, we require that all current pets are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and taking heart worm prevention. Applications will not be considered if one or more of these requirements are not met.

After filling out an adoption application (found at http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/), please email DFWCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com if you are interested in this dog.
