Bob's Story
Bob is learning what it means to be a family dog.

This approximately 8-year-old English Pointer spent most of his life outdoors in a hunting and kennel environment. When he first arrived in foster care, everyday things like doorways, unfamiliar sounds, and even going outside could be frightening.

But look at him now!!

Bob comes out of his room on his own, explores the house, sleeps on the couch, and brings toys to his foster. He even knows where his leash is kept—and heads straight there when he wants to go for a walk!

As Bob has grown more comfortable, we've gotten to see more of the wonderful dog underneath that initial uncertainty. He's affectionate, playful, curious, and becoming increasingly social with the resident dog.

Bob loves going for walks, sniffing, and exploring the world around him. Squirrels, however, are a different story. He becomes very focused on them, so he needs to remain securely leashed anywhere that isn't safely fenced.

He has met a cat in foster care, but any introductions to other animals should be gradual and supervised.

Bob is still learning some of the basics of family life, including leash manners, basic commands, and pottying while on leash. He'll need a patient, calm family who understands that a new home may feel scary at first and is willing to give him the time he needs to adjust.

One important note: Bob needs his space respected while he's sleeping. Please wake him with your voice before touching him.

Bob's transformation has been incredible to watch. He went from being frightened by the world around him to choosing to come out, explore, play, cuddle, and ask for walks.

Given time to feel safe, Bob has shown just how beautifully he can settle into home life. Now he just needs someone willing to give him the same chance to bloom in a forever home.
