Bob's Story
Bob is the NICEST dog ever. That's really all you need to know about this beautiful being that is full of love from the tip of his tail to the end of his nose. In a picture you see a l00 lb, 3 year old yellow lab but in person, you can see the pink and red heart emojis floating out of his body. Sweeeeet, loving, friendly, huggable. That's Bob.

Bob's backstory is unclear as he arrived at a Toronto shelter as a stray which in itself is mind boggling. Whoever wouldn't go to the ends of the earth to find this guy and make sure that he never got lost again doesn't deserve him, plain and simple.

Bob is living in a busy rural foster home with multiple dogs of all ages and sizes, and cats. Even though he is big in size, he is at the bottom of the dog hierarchy and he has no plans to climb higher. He is submissive to all dogs and can be bullied because he doesn't stick up for himself, so his new person needs to promise to find Bobert a wonderfully kind social group where he will be appreciated for his 'everyone-is-a-friend' outlook.

Bob looooves his offleash runs and is seeking a country home where he can continue to stretch his legs, enjoy the sniffs, and follow his person around. He is not a wanderer and he literally has a smile on his face as he heads off with the others - but don't worry, he always checks back. He does not want to go far from his people and is not particularly athletic so even if he did, he wouldn't go fast or far. It might be his lanky legs or the fact that Bobert didn't get a lot of space to get used to his body in his previous abode, but he's not what you would call uber coordinated. He does not jump on the couch, he climbs onto it and getting into the back of the van is like watching a frog climb a fence. He can also knock you by accident on the way by or when he turns around like a big ship making a turn in a small harbour. He's loving the snow and is probably a water dog because he likes to walk through the stream in -15 degrees and he has climbed into the tub when the water is running.

Bob chooses proximity over independence and he is going to be wherever you are, head nudging your hand or quietly following you from room to room. He loves to sleep on his human's bed and is totally into having a full body cuddle if you're up for it. His energy in the house is downright perfect and he can be found lounging amongst the other dogs. He did play with stuffies at the shelter but he hasn't shown that in his current home, maybe because of the resident toy stealer so Bob knows there's no point.

Bob is exceptional and therefore is looking for exceptionally committed people this time around. He would like:
-to live in the country where he has space to hang with his fam.
-another equally kind dog would be welcome as he can be playful at times.
-the KINDEST person in the world who will not raise their voice or hand to him.
-someone who likes to pat and hug their dog because this boy is tactile.
-furniture because it's comfy and he deserves it.
-to be home with his person so hopefully his new peeps are homebodies.

Bob is a very special boy. He has an open heart and does not have a mean bone in his gorgeous body.

Bob is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, dewormed, and microchipped. His adoption fee $750.

Adoption process includes application, virtual home visit, phone interview, reference check, meet & greet, adoption contract and $750 adoption fee.

***Fill out the ADOPTION APPLICATION at:
https://signup.ifaw.org/en-ca/northern-dogs-adoption-application-form
