Bob's Story

Bob is a happy guy! He can get a little nervous with strangers, but he warms up pretty quickly if you have treats. He's very curious, loves to explore his surroundings and is always up for a short run! He'd prefer to be the center of attention so he can get all the love he's been missing out on.

His foster says "During Bob's time in my care, I have gotten to know him as an incredibly sweet, loyal, and affectionate dog. He loves being close to his people and is especially cuddly when relaxing on the couch or in bed. He loves both giving and receiving affection and has been a wonderful companion to have around the apartment.

Bob is potty trained and has not had a single accident in my apartment while in my care, including on days when I work eight-hour shifts. I have also not experienced any aggressive behavior from him in my home.

Bob has a curious and adventurous personality that really comes out on walks. Whether we are exploring Stephens Lake or simply walking around my apartment complex, he loves taking in his surroundings and seeing what is going on around him.

He can be a little reluctant when first meeting strangers and seems to prefer having time to assess someone new rather than immediately approaching them. With a slow and patient introduction, he warms up quickly and becomes much more comfortable.

Overall, I would describe Bob as a sweet, loyal, curious, and loving dog who forms strong bonds with the people he trusts. He has been an affectionate and well-behaved companion during his time in my home."

This is what a volunteer had to say about Bob after a Doggy Day Out: "Bob was such a good dog today! We went and got a pup cup, hung out at my home and watched TV, and visited a pet store (Treats Unleashed). Bob does great on a leash-he pulls a little, but is generally relaxed, and he did great inside Treats Unleashed. When we hung out at my house, Bob only wanted to sit near me or cuddle! He was not interested in playing with toys today, but definitely loved being pet. When I stopped petting him, he would paw gently at me until I started petting him again! It was very cute. He was curious around my home, sniffing everything and checking out all the rooms, but he did not disturb anything. He got right up on my bed and made himself at home! He was happy to snuggle up by me while we watched TV. In the car, Bob was generally relaxed, but attentive, looking out the window often. Bob whined to let me know that he needed to go outside too! Bob really wanted to stay right next to me, so I think he would enjoy a family that was home often. Since it was hot, we mostly stayed inside so I can't speak to his overall activity level, but he was happy to just lay on the bed with me today!"

This is what a volunteer had to say about Bob after a walk: "Oh, Bob! What a dreamboat of a boy! Bob is as sweet as he is handsome, and his piggy-boy noises are the icing on the cake. He was such a delight to spend some time with. He was completely unphased by other dogs or bicycles on the trail. Just a happy, derpy boy excited to be on a walk. He is a strong fella, but never jerked us around. After about half an hour he started to lose steam for the most part, and he gave us several minutes of slack on the harness and leash. I cannot stress what a DREAMBOAT this sweet fella is. He is going to make a wonderful baby hippo house mate for some lucky person!"
