BOB's Story

Meet Bob (FKA as Canelo), a handsome Pittie/Lab mix who's struggling to find his footing in the shelter. In his kennel, his bark says “please go away,” but it's just his way of coping—he's scared, not aggressive. Once leashed (which he allows easily), Canelo walks well and bravely faces the world, even though his tucked tail and wide eyes show just how overwhelmed he feels. This sensitive boy needs a calm, patient home where he can decompress and slowly build his confidence. With time, love, and reassurance, Canelo has the potential to blossom into a loyal and loving companion. He occasionally spends time in the shelter yards with our volunteers and he loves splashing in the water. Please stop by soon and meet this handsome and gentle boy :)
A volunteer recently took Canelo out on a doggy day out and he had a great time. See video below:

Canelo recently met some social dogs at our shelter and did fine. He wasn’t ready to play, but we hope that as he gets more experience in our shelter playgroups, he’ll be ready to show us his silly side with other dogs. Looking for a buddy for your dog? Bring him/her to the shelter for a meet and greet and see if we're a match! Check out his playgroup video here:

To meet me, visit the Bradshaw Animal Shelter Tuesday-Sunday, Noon - 5:00 pm, Wednesdays, Noon - 6:00 pm. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To help expedite the meet and greet process, please make note of my Animal ID number, and those of other dogs you might be interested in meeting. Be sure to bring your ID with you, too. We are located at 3839 Bradshaw Road, Sacramento. I look forward to getting to know you!
