PLEASE COMPLETE OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION INSTEAD*

Meet Beautiful Bo-Colorado, a 14 month old 40 lb. male Bernedoodle, who is an IDOG foster home in Fort Collins, Colorado.

*Please read ALL the information in Bo’s listing before applying to ensure you understand what he needs to be successful in his new home.

*Please complete our adoption application at http://www.idogrescue.com/adoption_application (copy/paste URL into your browser).

*If you completed an adoption application in the last 6 months & would like for your application to be considered for Bo, please email us at rescue@idogdoodlerescue.org.

*You must complete our adoption application fully. If you choose not to answer all the questions in the application, your application will not be considered. We will review your application & email you if you made our short list of applicants for him. Please respond within 24 hours if you receive an email from us about making our short list.

*You can check the status of his adoption at www.doodles.petfinder.com or https://www.idogrescue.com/adopt or any of our social media pages. We will change his status to adopted when he is adopted.

*We base our adoption decisions on what is in the best interest of our dogs. Please note our adoption policies are in place for the safety and welfare of our dogs. We are all volunteers and have jobs, families, pets of our own to care for. We do the best that we can to get back to you in a timely manner. We believe in taking time to go through our thorough process to try to match the dog with the best fit for that dog.

*You must be approved to adopt him before we will schedule a meet and greet. We do not transport our dogs.

*AGE: approximately 14 months old (born September 2024)

*WEIGHT: 40 lbs.

*FENCE REQUIREMENT: A physical fence and yard are required. No electronic/invisible fences, or e-collars will be allowed.

*COAT TYPE: soft, curly, low-shedding coat. You should be prepared to brush him often (he loves being brushed) and have him groomed regularly (every 6-8 weeks) with an estimated cost of $120/groom.

*ENERGY LEVEL: Energetic! Bo has spurts of high energy and will quickly settle down if he needs to. He loves to walk, hike, and play fetch. He is super sweet. He loves to hold your hand with his paw and he loves nothing more than to cuddle with his foster parents and foster dog siblings.

*DOGS: Bo gets along fantastically with all his foster dog siblings in his foster home. He is very playful and loves to play with all the dogs he has met. We think he would love to have a fun playful dog in his new home.

*CATS: Unknown; Bo has had no exposure to cats in his foster home or prior home.

*KIDS: Unknown; Bo has had no exposure to kids in his foster home. He would likely be fine with kids 10+ who are comfortable around large dogs. He does still have the puppy tendency of eating items he shouldn’t so we feel that a home with older kids (who pick up socks and inedible items) is ideal for him. He loves to jump up when greeting people and jumps up to see what is in your hands if you have food in them.

*CAR: Loves it! Bo does great in the car and loves to go for rides. He rides like a champ and loves to lay down and relax.

*CRATE: Bo does okay in his crate with minor whining and barking. He does not prefer to be in his crate any longer than necessary. His foster parents work from home and he sleeps in a dog bed in their bedroom throughout the night so he spends minimal time in his crate. He can be a bit mischievous/try to eat fabric items so he must be crated while unattended for his own safety.

*HOUSE TRAINED: Yes! He is fully house-trained! He had a couple of accidents when he first arrived at his foster home but none since.

*LEASH: Bo is learning to walk on a leash without pulling. He does best when walking by himself. He would benefit from additional leash training.

*AT THE VET: Bo was a little shy and he did well.

Beautiful Bo is a 14 month old male Bernedoodle who weighs 40 lbs. He came into IDOG as an owner rehome. His former family loved him dearly but were going through some life changes and wanted him to be with a family who had more time for him and could give him more attention and exercise.

Here is what his foster family has to say about him:

Bo is the sweetest most cuddly Doodle around. He is filled with endless amounts of joy, love, and goofiness. He gets along with all dogs that he has met and loves all the people he has met too! Even though at first he can be a little shy he warms up quickly. He has the biggest heart and is down for any adventure you can think of!

He is goofy, affectionate, and always up for a the best cuddle session. He’s a lap dog to his core and there is nothing you can do to convince him otherwise. He loves to zoom around the house; and he always has to know where his humans are. He loves a great round of fetch and loves to romp around with other dogs. Bo has brought endless amounts of joy and laughs into his foster home. He’s a total ham and loves to make people smile!

Bo will thrive with an active family who will include him in their daily adventures. He doesn’t like to be left out and will whine if he feels like he is. He loves playtime in the backyard, and plenty of interactive fun! He loves to be near his people and his foster dog siblings. Bo is a very loving dog and loves to play. After getting his energy expended, he is very content to be at your feet or alongside you when it’s time to settle down.

Bo will flourish in a home where his people are active, engaged, and ready to match his enthusiasm for life. He loves hanging out with his foster siblings. He knows sit, shake, down, and high five. He is still working on “recall”.

His dream home includes:
-A fenced yard for safe zoomies and fetch sessions.
-A family committed to regular exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation.
-A playful doggy playmate to romp around with in the yard and/or an active human that takes him on walks or plays fetch with him with good snuggles.

Adjectives that describe Bo:
*Kind
*Playful
*Strong
*Funny
*Goofy
*Affectionate
*Easygoing
*Fun
*Affectionate
*Loving
*Sweet
*Energetic

Activities that Bo enjoys:
--Cuddling with humans and dogs
—Running in the yard
--Playing with his ball
--Exploring new smells
--Chewing on bones
--Being told what a good boy he is (he LOVES praise!)

A few ‘needs work’ items for Bo:
-Keeping all four paws on the floor - both when saying hello and when his humans have food in hands
-Working on giving other dogs space when treats are involved

Bo is super smart, eager to please, and responds well to guidance and routine. Bo is an energetic, loving boy who is searching for an active, engaged, and affectionate forever home. He will be your loyal shadow, your adventure buddy, and your little goofball, all rolled into one beautiful, big-hearted Doodle. With the right match, he’s going to thrive.

Bo is neutered, microchipped, and current on core vaccines. His fecal and heartworm tests were negative and he is on heartworm/flea/tick preventives.

ADOPTION FEE: $695 adoption fee

ADOPTION FEE EXPLANATION:
Puppies and highly adoptable dogs have a higher adoption fee to help IDOG cover the vetting and expenses of the other dogs in IDOG whose adoption fees do not cover their expenses. Our expenses are very high these days due to increased vetting expenses, board and train costs, medical/health issues and surgery that is needed for some of our dogs. IDOG relies heavily on donations to bridge the gap between our adoption fees and our expenses. Unfortunately, donations are down across the board for all rescues.

TO APPLY FOR BO-COLORADO, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: http://www.idogrescue.com/adoption_application

IDOG Rescue, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
BEFORE YOU APPLY Please consider all aspects before applying to adopt a dog. Rescue dogs usually come with a few issues and we prefer applicants that have realistic expectations and dog experience. We prefer a physical fence in most cases but will consider this on a case by case basis. Please read through all the information on our website before completing the application. To adopt one of our dogs you MUST first complete our online application. We do require an interview. In addition, a home visit will be required. We only adopt dogs to families who will keep them as inside pets. If you are not willing to work with your new rescue dog and let them get to know you at their own pace, please don't apply for one of our dogs. Returning a dog within 24-48 hours of picking it up is hard on the dog. Rescuing a dog is a lifetime commitment and if you give your all, you will get a great friend in return. They need time and patience. WHO WE ARE IDOG Rescue is a national U.S. foster-based not-for-profit 501(c)(3) public charity organization and has remained in good standing with the IRS since 2006 when IDOG was created. IDOG has been offering rescue and rehome services to Doodles, Standard Poodles and Poodle mixes since 2006. We have helped over 3,700 Doodles and Poodles to date. IDOG Rescue was the first specific rescue for Labradoodles and Goldendoodles and is endorsed by both the Australian Labradoodle Association of America and the Goldendoodle Association of America. IDOG is an approved Rescue Partner in shelters across the country and has an outstanding reputation for helping Doodles in need, no matter what color, age or health status. LOCATION OF DOGS IDOG has dogs in foster homes all over the U.S. Please see the location listed in the dog's name (for example, Toby-TX is located in a foster home in TX). In most instances, you will be required to live within driving distance of where the dog is located and to visit the dog in person. IDOG does not ship or transport dogs unless this option is stated in the listing. Shipping is stressful on the dog, and stressful for the volunteer who has to spend many hours preparing the dog and the paperwork, transporting and waiting at airports. It is not simply a matter of paying the shipping charge. We will only ship a dog if we cannot find it a home near where it is being fostered. ADOPTION FEES All of our IDOGs have an adoption fee that is non-negotiable and non-refundable. OUR ADOPTION FEES RANGE FROM $100 - $750 depending on the dog. We will require the adoption fee be paid prior to or when we transfer the IDOG to its new family. The adoption fee helps IDOG with the expenses related to the care of all of the dogs in our program and is not directly tied to the expenses incurred for that particular dog. Adoption fees allow IDOG to continue doing our life-saving work as we are 100% dependent upon adoption fees and donations to cover the costs of the dogs in our care. Each dog is assessed individually to determine the adoption fee. It currently costs IDOG an average of over $400 for basic vet, grooming, and foster care on each dog; that does not allow for the ones who get sick, need surgery, have special needs, or are heartworm positive. Adoption fee covers the cost of spay/neuter, core vaccines, fecal test/dewormer, heartworm testing, heartworm/flea/tick prevention and microchipping. All IDOGS are evaluated by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. HOW TO APPLY To apply for any of our dogs, please complete the application on our website: http://www.idogrescue.com/adoption_application REHOMING ASSISTANCE - FOR FAMILIES WHO NEED TO FIND A NEW HOME FOR THEIR DOODLE/POODLE IDOG Rescue also provides assistance and support for people who need to find a new home for their family pet - our motivation is to get these dogs into homes that understand the temperaments and needs of these energetic, playful & loving dogs.
