Meet Bo — Mr. Handsome Is Ready to Be Your Dog!<br/><br/>If you've ever wondered what happens when a gorgeous German Shepherd who spent his early life as a stud dog discovers that being a pet can actually be pretty fun... meet Bo!<br/><br/>Bo joined the Serendipity pack after the breeder who owned him went out of business. He was used as a stud dog, and honestly, one look at him makes it pretty obvious why. At around four years old, Bo is an absolutely stunning 98-pound bi-color German Shepherd. He's now neutered, his breeding days are officially behind him, and he's ready for a brand new chapter.<br/><br/>And we're discovering something pretty special about that chapter. We don't believe Bo has ever really had the opportunity to learn how to succeed in a home. He's been busy being a German Shepherd with a job. Now our volunteers are getting to see his goofy side emerge—and they are absolutely loving it. In fact, Bo has collected several nicknames along the way, including Mr. Handsome and Beau. Apparently, one name just isn't enough for this guy. <br/><br/>Bo loves to explore and is an excellent leash walker, making him a fun companion for someone who enjoys getting out and about. He's also housebroken and keeps his living space remarkably tidy. Toys haven't caught his attention yet, but we're not ruling them out. He's still figuring out this whole being a dog just for fun thing!<br/><br/>Now for the important part... Bo is not a beginner German Shepherd. He has a dominant personality and is smart enough to recognize an opportunity to take charge—and if you give him the opening, he'll happily accept the promotion. Because of this, we will require an adopter with extensive hands-on experience with German Shepherds, particularly confident, strong-minded dogs. Bo needs a handler who understands the breed and is committed to consistent training, structure, and boundaries. <br/><br/>Bo has a high prey drive, so a home without cats is a must. He cannot live with male dogs, although he might do well with the right female dog. A meet-and-greet will be required to make sure the personalities are a good match. Older children may be considered if they have substantial experience with German Shepherds and are comfortable around a large, energetic dog.<br/> <br/>These aren't arbitrary rules—they're about setting Bo up for success. After spending much of his life in a breeding environment and never really having the opportunity to learn how to be a family dog, we want to give him the very best chance at getting it right.<br/><br/>And here's the part we love... Bo is learning how much fun it can be to simply be someone's companion. He's handsome. He's smart. He's goofy. He's a little crafty. He's discovering his personality. And he's surrounded by volunteers who already adore him.<br/><br/>Bo has spent his life being valued for what he could produce. We'd really like the next chapter of his life to be about who he is. His breeding career is over. His career as a beloved companion is just beginning, and he’s waiting for someone to finally say, “Bo, buddy, you've got this. And I've got you.”<br/><br/><br/><br/>-------------------<br/>Our Adoption Fees:<br/>-------------------<br/><br/>*Dogs and puppies 12 months old or younger: $450<br/><br/>* Adult dogs over 12 months of age: $400<br/><br/>* Senior dogs over 7 years of age qualify for our "Seniors FUREVER" program! Seniors are special to us, so we offer two options:<br/><br/>(1) If your heart has a special place for the seniors, you can adopt a senior dog for the regular adoption fee of $400 and this becomes a perpetual fee.
