Blue from Wortham's Story

Blue is the all-around sweetest, most awesome dog ever with the most stunning eyes! He was found as a stray in Wortham, a tiny rural town Southeast of Waco, Texas. He is wonderful with cats, other dogs and kids and is so ready to find his furever home! Blue loves car rides, snacks and playtime!

Unfortunately Blue, and all the animals at the Wortham shelter, have little prospects as the shelter does little to no adoptions. There is a small group of individuals in Wortham that work tirelessly to network (and vet, on a very limited budget) these animals to foster-based rescues in and out of Texas that are willing to consider them. Red Fern was contacted by one of these volunteers who, together with her high school daughter, go to the holding facility every day to walk the dogs, socialize them, take them to the vet, and just spend quality time with them.

Blue is still at the shelter in the small, rural town of Wortham in South Texas. He's waiting for an adopter, or committed foster, to welcome him into their Colorado home! There is a transport arriving Friday 1/16 that he can hop on so submit your application quickly!

Red Fern Animal Rescue offers a two week foster to adopt trial in your home before finalizing the adoption to ensure the animal is the right fit for you, everyone in the home, human & animal, and vice versa.

Red Fern Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue in Denver that saves animals from abandonment and neglect in South Texas for new lives in Colorado. We primarily rescue dogs off the streets and from kill shelters in San Antonio.
