Meet Blue 💙<br/><br/>Blue is a lovable, approximately one-year-old pup with a heart as big as his adorable floppy ear. From the moment you meet him, it’s clear that Blue’s favorite thing in the world is people. He greets everyone—men and women alike—with enthusiasm and affection, happily soaking up pets and attention. In fact, the staff at the vet clinic completely fell in love with him, and the feeling was mutual!<br/><br/>This friendly, social boy has a playful, puppy-like spirit and an energy level around a 7/10. He loves toys (especially a good game of fetch!) and will happily bring them back for another round. Blue is also a cuddle expert—while he may be a bit too big to fit in your lap, he’ll do his best by draping his front legs over you for the sweetest “hug.” He’s a big fan of ear scratches, belly rubs, and just being close to his favorite humans.<br/><br/>Blue is smart and eager to please. He already knows some basic commands like “sit” and even offers his paw for a handshake. He’s learning quickly and would thrive with continued training and positive reinforcement. He walks well on a leash but, like any young pup, is still polishing his manners. He’s even been introduced to jogging and is learning to run alongside his person—he’s a quick learner and enjoys the activity!<br/><br/>While his housetraining status isn’t fully confirmed, Blue shows strong signs of having lived indoors before. He understands having a designated bed area and settles nicely in his space. He may do well in an apartment or home setting, especially since he’s calm, quiet (he rarely, if ever, barks!), and doesn’t seem easily startled. He’s also shown no signs of resource guarding and is gentle and trusting, even when food or toys are taken away.<br/><br/>Blue hasn’t had much direct interaction with kids yet, but based on his easygoing and affectionate personality, he may do well with respectful children. He has also shown calm curiosity around cats, without lunging or aggressive behavior.<br/><br/>Like many young dogs, Blue still has a few puppy quirks—he may chew on sticks or mulch if left to his own devices—but he hasn’t shown destructive behavior with household items. With guidance and structure, he’s sure to grow into an even more well-mannered companion.<br/><br/>If Blue had a spirit animal, it would be a dolphin: friendly, playful, intelligent, and deeply connected to others. He truly thrives on companionship and just wants to be by your side, whether you’re out for a jog or relaxing at home.<br/><br/>Blue is more than just a cute face—though his floppy ear certainly helps! He’s a loyal, affectionate, and joyful companion who’s ready to bring love, laughter, and plenty of hugs into his forever home.<br/><br/>Could Blue be your new best friend? 🐾<br/><br/>Note: While Blue has seen a cat at the vet clinic and met dogs on walks, he is currently in a foster home with no other pets and therefore we cannot say with certainty how he will behave in a home with other animals. <br/><br/>Blue is about 1-2 yrs old and 50 lbs. <br/><br/>Blue is currently being fostered in Houston, TX and is available locally or in the NE.
