Bleu's Story

ABOUT BLEU
One look at her sweet face and signature satellite ears, and you'll understand why the team fell so hard for this girl! Bleu is a 5-year-old, energetic ball of life who brings big personality wherever she goes. She came to HAP when her owners were no longer able to care for a pet, and the transition has been a big adjustment for her. After living in a home, the loud, busy shelter environment can feel overwhelming, leaving Bleu a bit alert and excitable in her kennel, something that unfortunately causes many adopters to pass her by.

In a calmer setting, Bleu blossoms into a happy, affectionate companion who is just waiting for a peaceful place to truly relax and be herself. She loves exploring on trails, going for runs, and tossing around toys in our fenced yards. In her previous home, Bleu was both crate trained and house trained, and she lived successfully with other dogs and children. She already knows basic commands and is very treat motivated, making her a fun and eager learner who enjoys working with her people. With a little consistency and some extra-smelly snacks, she's ready to keep building her skills!

While Bleu may not be a couch potato, she'll thrive with regular exercise and adventures, but once she's had a chance to burn off some energy, she transforms into a loving, snuggly girl who just wants to be close to her humans. Take her for a run or a long walk, and she'll happily trade that energy for a cozy bed, a soft blanket, and some well-earned cuddle time. If you're looking for a loyal companion with the cutest ears in town and a heart ready to settle into home life again, Bleu might be your perfect match!

Bleu has participated in our Doggy Day Out program too! Here's what one volunteer had to say about her:
"Took Bleu out on a run today and she was perfect!! She definitely pulls on a walk but the second you start running she immediately falls in with your stride. She can be reactive to squirrels and wants to meet every dog we pass. She is the absolute cutest and I'd love to bring her for a run again soon! She would make a great dog for any active person!" - Julie

If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
