This Lab is currently in a foster home, which is CILRA’s standard practice and allows us to learn more about the Lab before they are officially ready for adoption. It gives us time to evaluate the Lab’s personality, bring them up-to-date on vaccinations, and have them spayed/neutered if needed. If you are interested in this Lab, please keep checking the website for status updates or send an email of interest to cilralabs@yahoo.com. <br/><br/>****************************<br/><br/>Meet Blaze — Your Doorway Guardian & Fetch Champion<br/><br/>Blaze is a 3 year-old, 55-pound Lab mix with two modes: Mode 1: “Let’s PLAY!” and Mode 2: “I shall now be your guardian angel you while you relax.” There is very little in between. 😄<br/><br/>This handsome guy came to us as a stray, so he can be a little shy at first. But give him a minute — once he decides you’re his person, it’s game over. You will have a loyal shadow, professional foot-warmer, and full-time best friend.<br/>Blaze loves:<br/><br/>* A good game of fetch<br/>* Chew bones (the better to occupy his brilliant mind)<br/>* People — the more the merrier<br/>* Sleeping dramatically at his foster dad’s doorway like a devoted knight<br/><br/>Blaze is inquisitive and curious about the world. Occasionally, he may test whether your shoe is secretly a chew toy (he’s still refining his classification system), but he’s learning quickly. In his defense, he does not jump on furniture and he’s too short to counter surf — so honestly? We’ll call that a win.<br/><br/>He walks beautifully on leash and enjoys exploring new places with his human. He’s crate trained and does well during the workday, but he’s also showing that he can be trusted outside the crate. At night, he prefers to position himself near you — because obviously guarding the kingdom (you) is serious business.<br/><br/>Blaze is smart! He already knows the commands Sit, Lay Down, Go in your Bed. He’s attentive, eager, and very motivated to please. With consistency and structure, he’s going to shine.<br/><br/>Blaze enjoys people and gets along with other dogs; cats are unknown.<br/><br/>✨ Neutered<br/>✨ Up to date on vaccinations<br/>✨ 3 years old<br/>✨ 55 pounds of loyalty<br/><br/>He is currently fostered in the Northwest Chicago suburbs.<br/><br/>If you’re looking for a dog who will play hard, love deeply, and proudly sleep at your doorway like you are the most important person in the world — Blaze is ready!<br/><br/>*******************<br/><br/>Adopting a Lab can be a wonderful experience. Your new dog will need lots of love, adequate exercise and attention. Keep in mind that dog ownership may include additional costs for training, grooming, and health care beyond annual vaccines and monthly preventatives. It’s a lifetime commitment!
