Blaze's Story

Blaze is a 2-year-old Pit mix with the perfect balance of playful energy and easygoing companionship. He’s just as happy romping around with a dog friend as he is curled up beside his person for a TV marathon. This boy loves attention, and don’t be surprised if he hops onto the couch to sneak in a snuggle or two — he’s a total sweetheart.

Blaze gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would love a playful canine buddy, though he’d also be perfectly happy as an only dog since he adores following his foster mom everywhere. He hasn’t been tested with cats yet. He’s a big fan of crinkly stuffies and bully sticks, and he’ll proudly carry his favorites around!

He’s fully house-trained and walks nicely on leash. The only time he struggles is when a loud noise startles him, but gentle pats and a calm, reassuring voice quickly help him settle. He’s still learning that things like vacuums and leaf blowers aren’t as scary as they seem, and he’s making steady progress.

Blaze is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and beyond ready for his forever family!

Blaze’s ideal FURever home includes:

- Someone with the time and patience to help him continue building trust

- A work-from-home environment or a family that’s around often

- A playful dog sibling would be wonderful, but not required

- Older, gentle children who understand that sudden movements can startle him

- A family who will shower him with love, stability, and encouragement

If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who’s equal parts snuggle buddy and playmate, Blaze might be your perfect match.
