Blaze's Story

Spike is wonderful with dogs and kids, walks beautifully on a leash, sits when asked, and absolutely loves to cuddle. He has an excellent disposition and truly shines as an easy, loving companion — you really couldn’t ask for a better sidekick.

Spike is heartworm positive, but his treatment is provided by Pitt Friends. According to the American Heartworm Society, treatment is highly effective, with over 95 percent of dogs testing negative after completing treatment. With proper veterinary care, most dogs go on to live completely normal, healthy lives.

Spike has so much love to give and is ready for a family who will see past a temporary medical condition and focus on the amazing companion he is!

Pitt Friends's Adoption Policy
Thank you for considering adopting from Pitt Friends! The first step in our adoption process is filling out our application, which you can find at pittfriends.com. If your application is approved, the foster family will reach out to you directly to arrange a meet and greet at a mutually agreeable time and place. We do not have a shelter facility. All of our animals live in foster care full time, in the homes of our volunteers. Our adoption fee is $200 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, deworming, and any other medical care that is required prior to adoption. A home check and vet reference are required prior to adoption. Each dog has different needs, so if one particular dog is not the right fit for your home, we may be able to recommend another that is a better match!
