Blaze's Story

Blaze!!!

Last week, we shared that this handsome boy would be making his way to Missouri because he is now safe with Journey Home! Today, lets dive a little deeper into Blazes story.

Blaze is still just a puppy with a LOT of energy... because thats exactly what puppies are supposed to have! Instead, he spent nearly two months growing up behind bars, waiting and wondering when it would be his turn.

At just over a year old, Blaze was facing a heartbreaking deadline. Notes indicated he didnt want to interact with the handler in the play yard, and that became part of the reason he was placed at risk. Imagine being a young, overwhelmed dog in a loud, stressful shelter environment and being expected to show your best self every single day.

Thankfully, his story doesnt end there.

Journey Home stepped in and gave this gorgeous boy a new journey and a second chance at life.

Meet Blaze:

Male German Shepherd Dog
33 pounds
Approximately 1 year and 2 months old
Entered the shelter on April 23, 2026
Saved from a euthanasia deadline
Now safe with Journey Home and headed to Missouri!

Blaze is exactly what youd expect from a young shepherdenergetic, curious, playful, and ready to learn. Now, his future is finally looking bright.

Welcome to your new journey, Blaze.
