Blaze's Story
Meet your new friend Blaze!

Blaze is a yellow lab mix and about 8 years old. He’s a total goofy boy that loves affection and people. He’s a hefty boy and would love a family that could help him lose some weight. Wherever the people are he will be there!

He gets along well with other dogs big and small. But doesn’t do well with cats and small animals, he might try to chase them. We’re not sure he does with children since none of his foster homes had kids. He is very smart and will open backyard gates and take himself on a stroll, so please make sure they’re locked!

Blaze does have Cushing’s and will need medication for the rest of his life. Because of the disease he’s very big on food and will find it wherever it is. He recently got neutered and had a much needed dental. He is up to date on vaccines and will be microchipped before being adopted. BECAUSE OF HOW EXPENSIVE HIS MEDS ARE, THE RESCUE WILL BE PAYING FOR HIS CUSHINGS MEDS FOR THE REST OF LIFE. So whoever adopts him will not need to worry about that expense.

Blaze loves a leisurely walk. He can't go far, but he can soak in the moment. When Blaze needs a break on walks he likes to pause and act like he's taking in the view or pretend to pee. But we all know he is catching his breath.
Blaze is an absolute lover. He wants to be where the humans are at all times. His current routine when I come home from work is to flop on his back and rub/roll around in pure happiness. This is also what he does post mealtime, his true first love.

Blaze has found his voice and likes to raspy bark at the things his foster siblings woof at. He's not loud, but he is proud.

Blaze does not enjoy the sound of fireworks. He is easily comforted with touch and he will settle and sleep as long as he can feel you next to him.

Baths are not his favorite thing, but he is such a good boy. He is easily distracted by something to lick or any treats and resigns himself to his fate. On the other end of the spectrum he LOVES being brushed. His hair is coming back in fully ginger lusciousness and he will sit for brushes as long as you will do it. He is quite jealous when it's someone else's turn and will attempt to butt in.

His adoption fee is $75. But after 30 days in his new home, we will be refunding the $75. He is being fostered in Idaho Falls, ID. Call or Email to schedule a meet + greet. He is available for foster-to-adopt as long as you’re in Idaho or Utah.

Info@goldenbarkfoundation.org
385.244.0341
