Blaine's Story

Blaine is a very sweet 2 year old, 11 lb Toy Poodle mix. He is very shy at first but in about a week, he will start opening up and will curl up next to you on the couch or in bed. He is crate-trained, and he is crated when his foster family leaves the house. He sleeps in bed with them at night, but he is also fine being crated at night as well if you're not a fan of dogs in bed.

Blaine will follow you everywhere you go. Once he is comfortable, he will be your shadow. Leash training is going well for him, and he will need to continue with this because it helps him with his confidence. He loves to eat, which is helpful for positive reinforcement in training.

Blaine needs regular grooming including bathing, drying, and combing. His foster mom has him on a weekly schedule, which he is learning to get used to. Prior to us rescuing him, he was extremely matted, so it's imperative this never happens again.

The perfect home for Blaine would be a home with either only adults or teenage age and older children as well as a more confident dog for him to learn from. He REQUIRES another dog in his forever home. Blaine is afraid of small children, so he is not a match for a home with them. Because he will not potty on leash, he does REQUIRE a fenced in yard.

To adopt him, please apply on www.orphanannierescue.org
His adoption fee is $350, which includes his shots up-to-date, microchipping, neuter, and heartworm testing.
