Blackie's Story

Blackie was picked up stray and was brought to our shelter a year ago. She had very very serious skin issues and infected eyes and was in terrible condition. We have worked with her and our Veterinarian to get her into much much better shape. Blackie will probably never grow all of her hair back, But her skin has improved tremendously. She is not contagious to people or to other dogs nor is, she bothered by her condition. We have literally never seen her scratch. She is a sweet dog, who knows several commands and gets along well with other dogs. Poor Blackie would really really love to get out of the shelter and get into a home of her own. It is going to take a special person to overlook her hairless spots and give her love anyway. Blackie currently does not have any special needs. We have trouble keeping weight on her, but this will no doubt not be a problem once she gets out of the Shelter environment as she loves to eat. If you are interested in Blackie, please email
homes4all@gonetodogs.org
for more information. Please contact us before coming to the shelter to meet Blackie as we do sometimes have irregular hours. This is a special dog who has had a rough start to her life and deserves a comfy home going forward. Sweet dog!
