Blackie's Story

Meet Blackie! He is a 2 year old terrier mix with a spunky personality. He can be shy when first meeting new people but has already become so much more confident since arriving here! Blackie walks great on a leash and enjoys strolling around our lake and receiving many treats for being a good boy. He is more than ready to find his new family!

Notes from my cold weather foster: Blackie is an affectionate boy who is a bit timid and tries very hard to please. He will make the perfect companion for the right family.

He likes to curl up on the couch and sleep. He also loves long walks at a good pace, and doesn't pull or dawdle. He would love to find a home with people who like to walk for exercise or even hike. He loves squeaky toys and is good at entertaining himself with them. He doesn't seem to be a chewer (of furniture or dog bones) but he is a shoe thief, so watch your flip flops!

He's not potty trained but does go potty outside every time we walk. He loves to play and also relax. During his visit here, he enjoyed lots of cuddle time. He slept on the floor (in dog bed with fleece blanket) next to my bed and slept all night!

Blackie does have a preference for females. I (female) am the one he follows around and looks to for comfort. Nonetheless, I was surprised at how well he took to my husband. He enjoys pets from my husband and, of course, takes treats from him.
