Bitsy's Story

BITSY

BITSY is one sweet girl! She looks more like a Collie, but was listed as a Border Collie. BITSY is probably between 1 and 2 years old. She recently attended an Adoption Event and was the most calm dog there, lying in her kennel nicely and enjoying the attention of people as they passed by to pet her! Never, barking or complaining, so maybe in a former life, she was crated indoors while the people were gone.....

She is being fostered outside and she will not go in the kennel, so if she is not housebroken, she would be easy to train. We were told that she is housetrained She has been let inside and her foster said she is a perfect lady, lying quietly on the rug.

Like all border collies, she is very high energy with an obsessive need to work or herd. She would most definitely "herd" cars if left loose, so that is not an option. Older kids may have the time and energy to keep BITSY amused, and anyone with livestock would be a great home so that she can make herself useful. Border collies do very well in agility. She is working on leash training and enjoys a walk every day. She pays little attention to the cats, but wants to go for squirrels!
She seems to have little interest in a motionless cat, but she has a strong prey drive would no doubt chase a cat that ran. Unknown what she would do to it if she did catch it, so caution is advised.
BITSY's adoption fee will be $100 to cover her vet expenses. Please contact the email listed for an application to start the process.
