Birdie's Story
All animals in Safe Paws' care were set to be euthanized. We cannot guarantee the breed of any animal in our care and the breed listed is simply our best guess based on observation.

If you're interested in adopting or having a one on one meet and greet, fill out an application by visiting safepawsia.org.

Adoption Fee: $250

GOOD WITH CATS: Has not been cat tested yet

GOOD WITH DOGS: Yes, but may require slow intro

GOOD WITH KIDS: Yes

KNOWN COMMANDS: None currently

KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING: Good but occasional accidents in kennel or around the house

KNOWN KENNELING: Kennels well and is quiet

KNOWN LEASH: Good on a leash

KNOWN LIKES: Walking, fetch, soft toys, hard toys, lap time, cuddling, treats, playing

KNOWN DISLIKES: -Men in hats or sunglasses but once she gets up and close to sniff around she gets better
-She doesn't like when our dogs are playing or making loud noises but I think she may do better without her puppies because I think she's more reactive when they're around.
- She will paw at your face if you're not paying attention to her or giving her rubs. We're working on this but it may hurt kiddos. A good nail trim would help immensely

FROM THE FOSTER: Birdie is a sweetheart and wants to be by your side or in your lap. She is crate trained and does well eating and sleeping in it, although I'm sure she'd rather snuggle in bed with a human. She would thrive in a yard with a fence but a tie out would be ok in an open yard, as she can take off quick if she sees something she's interested in elsewhere.

She likes all kinds of toys and will play fetch until she's tired and wants to be in a lap. She is good with other dogs after she gets to know them. Loud noises and play fighting startle her and make her a bit nervous but will calm with some reassurance.
