Billy's Story
Meet Billy — The Comical Country Hound! Applications can be completed directly online www.suesrescue.com

Approx. 2 years old • 30 lbs • Neutered • UTD on vaccines

Billy is a lovable, goofy little hound mix with a ton of charm and character. He’s the perfect medium size at about 30 lbs, housebroken, and tidy. True to his hound nature, Billy loves to follow his nose, explore, and hunt for little critters — he would thrive in a country or rural home where he can enjoy the outdoors.

Indoors, he’s mellow, clean, and very easy to live with. He’s independent and not clingy, but once he trusts you, he is affectionate and enjoys being part of your world.

Billy is dog selective.
He does have some dog friends in his current boarding environment, but he isn’t a dog who will enjoy every dog he meets. He tends to ignore most dogs and would do best with respectful, calm female dogs or a home where he can be the only dog. A meet-and-greet is required for any resident dog.

He is not a dog-park dog. He’s a private friends only kind of guy.

Home Needs & Lifestyle
• Country / rural property strongly preferred
• Crate or separate room during meals (he guards his food and high value items)
• No small children due to food guarding
• best as an only dog or with a compatible female dog
• Not destructive
• Very easy to live with when managed properly
• Calm and mellow

Additional Transparency

Billy arrived as a rescue transfer. In a previous foster home, he held a dead mouse and when someone tried to forcibly remove it from his mouth, he nipped. No medical care was needed, but we want to be clear and honest: Billy needs a home that is comfortable managing resource guarding by prevention, and training “drop it” but not confrontation.
