Billy's Story

Billy is about 2 years old and has packed a lot of living into the past 3 months. His early years are a mystery, though some of his behaviors indicate that perhaps he wasn’t loved or cared for properly. He and two dog friends were on the run in the woods for about three weeks in October. When he was captured, Billy had a face full of porcupine quills. He came into rescue at Susie Q and has been learning how to be a dog from our other foster dogs here. Billy is hand shy and still fearful of being restrained (leashed) but is getting more tolerant each time. He is doing well with his potty training once he knows what is expected of him. He is not crate trained and because of his history of escaping and running a fenced in yard is a must for this boy. His last requirement is only that someone love him forever and be ready to teach him the rest of his dog skills. His adoption fee is $350. Please go to the website and fill out an application if you are interested in meeting him. www.susieqdogresq.com

Our Mission
SusieQ Dog ResQ rescues dogs in need and keeps them safe until their forever home can be found. I started my rescue after volunteering  in New Orleans following hurricane Katrina. It was then that I knew I wanted to focus on rescue full time. I do know that one person doing their part, no matter how large or small, can make...
