Bill's Story

Meet Bill. Bill (white) and his brother Quill (red/white) came to us after they got into a tussle with a porcupine. They had many quills that had to be removed. They had surgery to remove the quills are are since doing well!

Bill LOVES people! He wants nothing more than to be with people and get attention all day long. He does great with children too. We were told he lived in a home previously with other dogs, but we would need to do proper introductions with other dogs in the home.

Quill and his brother Bill we estimate to be about 1-2 years old. Based on appearance and age we believe they are brothers, but they do not need to be adopted together and would do well in separate homes or together. They do have a lot of energy and would do best in homes with active lifestyles. We have not cat tested them but they do seem to have a prey drive.

We do not know their breed makeup but suspect some type of hound. They are neutered, microchipped, heartworm and tick disease tested and negative for all, and fecal tested and negative for parasites.

An approved adoption application is required. The $275 adoption fee (payable by cash or check only) includes spay/neuter; microchip; dental teeth cleaning (if needed prior to adoption); vaccinations; heartworm and tick disease testing; fecal w/ giardia testing, monthly heartworm and flea and tick prevention . Our adoption application may be found by going to: www.headinhomerescue.org; then click on the link to the adoption application. Dogs for adoption may be seen by appointment only following an approved application. Proof of completion of an obedience class is required for all dogs following adoption. Please note: while we welcome out of state applications, we do not ship our animals and require adopters to come to Holland to finalize any adoption.
