Bijou-Pending Adoption!'s Story

My name is Bijou, which is French for "Little Jewel", and I am definitely a jewel. I'm a sweet, irresistibly cuddly Frenchie girl with a deep love for naps, snuggles and my foster humans. I am 23 pounds and I just turned 3 years old, so I still have a little puppy energy, but I am most interested in naps and snuggles...and treats, I really like treats.

I am currently living with my foster Mom & Dad and 3 furry foster siblings. I get along well with all my doggie siblings, especially my foster Frenchie sister. We sometimes snuggle together and give each other licks. Most of all I like my foster humans, especially my foster Dad, I follow him everywhere and like to give him lots of licks! Would you liked to be licked or not licked? Just kidding, everyone gets licked! Sometimes I can be a little exuberant with my affection, so I might be a little much for small children.

I have been spayed, updated on my vaccinations, heartworm tested (negative) and microchipped. When I can into rescue I had an issue with ear polyps, but they have been cleared up by the nice vet lady. I will need regular ear cleanings to keep my ears in tip top shape and I will be honest I don't love it, but will tolerate it. I had some itchy feet at the beginning of Spring and am taking an allergy chew and that has kept that in check.

I am potty trained, I just need to stay on schedule and get out on a regular basis. When my foster parents leave I am happy to go into my crate and snuggle with my blankie until they come home. I am not great on a leash so will need some work, but luckily my foster parents have a fenced backyard for me to run in.

I adore being close to people. I will follow you from room to room...you will never be alone. I am happy just to be near you. I enjoy napping in my cozy doggie bed and snoring softly, but my preferred napping spot is next to my people on the couch. My foster Dad says I am becoming a good watch dog and will let him know when there is a sound that needs to be investigated.

I love all the people I meet, but I haven't be around many children. I don't imagine I will have a problem with kids, but as mentioned before I might be a bit much for small children with my affection and exuberance in wanting to share kisses. I get along with all furry foster siblings, but am more of a cuddler than a rambunctious player. I have not had the pleasure of meeting a kitty, so I am not sure how I would react. My furry foster brother has taught me that bunnies and squirrels are to be chased...that is soooo much fun!

I would love a home with someone who works from home or stays home all day. I don't complain about going in my kennel, but prefer to not have to and have my people be around. I would be happy with having fur siblings or being an only, cherished dog. I sound pretty awesome, Are you ready to adopt me yet?

We do accept applications from anywhere in the US and Canada as long as the selected family is willing to pick her up.

Applications can be found at www.rescueaboston.com.
