Biggie's Story

Meet Biggie! A big, handsome corgi boy with an equally big heart. His family in another state had to surrender him due to a move, so he has come to Colorado in search of his forever home. Biggie is 4 years old and weighs about 40 pounds. He walks well on a leash and enjoys his daily strolls. He loves squeaky and chew toys, and enjoys playing with toys and chasing a ball—although he may not always bring it back or be eager to share.

Biggie’s ideal home is one where his people are not gone for long hours and can provide daily walks to support his weight-loss journey. A dog-savvy adopter and/or someone with herding dog experience would be preferred. A secure, fenced yard where he can romp and play would also be wonderful. Biggie does well with other dogs, but we do not know his history with cats. He is both housebroken and crate trained. True to his corgi roots, Biggie has a big voice, so a home with shared walls would likely not be the best fit for him.

He is quite the talker, and sometimes it can be difficult to interpret his intentions. For this reason, we feel he would do best in a home without children, as kids may miss the cues he gives when he is feeling uncomfortable. We suspect that Biggie’s past may have included punitive correction, so a home that focuses on positive reinforcement would be ideal to help him build confidence and learn new, positive behaviors.

Biggie is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, neutered, and heartworm negative. If you are interested in adopting Biggie or would simply like to meet him, the first step is to complete our meet-and-greet application at: https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms . We require a completed application, home and reference checks, and for Biggie to meet everyone in the household prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $400, and we do not adopt out of state.
