Big Mac's Story

Who doesn't love a Big Mac? 🍔🍟
Reportedly found outside of a McDonalds, this big beefcake promptly received the name Big Mac -- and it fits so well.
Big Mac is an older adult (maybe 6 years old?) Pit/Bully mix who was a stray and never reclaimed by an owner. He is a very sweet, but sensitive boy who took a lot of time to adjust to life in the shelter. After getting comfortable here, he has begun to thrive and enjoys toys, dress up, and snuggles from staff. As he started off very stressed and fearful here, we haven't proceeded with official dog and cat testing, but so far based on behavior here he would likely be fine with dogs, but we think he would do best in a home without kitties. Big Mac is housetrained, and keeps his kennel nice and clean here. He also rides well in the car. Due to his sensitive nature, we think he would do best in an adult only home. His adoption fee is $150, he will be neutered prior to leaving the shelter, is vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Big Mac is looking for adopters OR rescue placement. Please stop by to meet Big Mac during our normal open business hours, or call or email 630-553-9256 or animalcontrol@kendallcountyil.gov with any questions.
