BETTY's Story
Betty (A140716) is a 1-year-10-month-old husky mix who weighed nearly 50 lbs at intake! 12/27/25 This sweet girl is Betty! Betty was brought to the shelter because she can be a picky eater, which can pose a problem for a sled dog, especially in colder temps. Betty was described as being an outgoing and friendly girl who gets along with humans of all ages. She can be hyper around kiddos though, so keep this in mind if you have little ones at home. Betty does not like other female dogs. She was said to do fine with males. She is a young dog, and her spay may help with this behavior. However, caution should be taken if planning to introduce her to any other dogs. She does not have experience with any other animals, including cats or livestock. Betty is harness broken and used to running in a dog team. She would do great in an active home that may let her run on a rec team or skijor/canicross and then relax and cuddle up inside. Miss Betty does not have much experience riding in cars, and she did get carsick on her way to the shelter. She is said to be kennel trained, but she needs help with mastering potty training. She has also been known to jump on people, so she may need some help with her manners. If you are interested in meeting Miss Betty, please give us a call!
