Betsy's Story

If you are interested in this pet, please email info@k9sinneed.com for an adoption application. In your email, you will need to indicate Betsy's name and your understanding that she will require daily medication and regular visits to a cardiologist for the rest of her life. If your request does not include these things, no one will respond.

Update 3/10/20: Betsy has completed her heartworm treatments and is now off any restrictions on her activity. She will still be required to continue to be on her medication. She is now 50lbs and our vet thinks she is between 3 and 4 years old. She will have her final appointment for her heartworm treatments the end of June and at that time, we will know if we can reduce her meds or if we have to continue with the same mount. Needless to say, she will have to continue visiting a cardiologist on a regular basis.

Betsy is heartworm positive and is preparing for her heartworm treatments. The heartworms have caused permanent heart damage and she will be required to take medication (about $300.00/month) for the rest of her life.

Betsy has had a very hard start.
