Bessy's Story

Meet Bessy #31013
The high-energy sweetheart ready to hike her way into your heart!

Bessy was found as a stray, and ever since arriving at the shelter, she's shown us just how full of life and love she really is! This sweet girl is bursting with energy and personality. If you're an active individual or family who loves outdoor adventures, Bessy might just be your new best friend!

That said, Bessy isn't just a walk in the park-unless you're literally taking her on one! She will need a family committed to helping her continue basic obedience training and manage her reactivity toward other dogs. When around other dogs, Bessy becomes very assertive and can show signs of aggression. She tends to hyper-fixate and loses focus on her handler, so Bessy must be the only pet in the home at this time.

Because she's still working on her impulse control, a home with older kids (12+) would be best. But don't let that fool you-Bessy has so much love to give and would make an amazing hiking or jogging buddy for someone who's ready to keep up with her! Once she's on the move, nothing can stop this determined girl!
