Bessie Lita - 4258 FL's Story

Hello! My name is Lita. I am an approximately 8 years old female Boston Terrier who came to the rescue from the streets of Puerto Rico. Despite my unfortunate past I am a sweet little lovebug. I've not been exposed to babies or young children yet but I love people- don't expect to sit down without me approaching you and putting my paws out at you (my foster mom calls this my “hugs”) and licking your face if I can reach!

As for my temperament with other dogs, I was a little skittish with my foster siblings at first encounter. I was a bonded pair with my brother, but he passed away just a few days before arriving in Florida. However, within a day or two I fit right in with all five of them and we have lots of fun together! I seem indifferent to cats but never left unattended around them.

I am good in my crate, but am still working on house training and leash skills. I don't bark much and am happy to entertain myself with chew toys (especially if they make a crinkly noise!) and piles of blankies to burrow in. My forever home needs to be a single level home. Stairs scare me. I was caught once trying to dig out of my yard under the fence, so a secure perimeter would be a great plus in my forever home!

I would do best in a family who is home frequently, and have the energy and patience to work with me as I adjust to life in a stable and healthy environment.

I came to the rescue with heartworm and 9.20.25 I am heartworm negative & can start a healthy new life. I have so much life left to live!
Adoption fee: $340

Contact: her foster Photini Hatzidafni (517) 398-7567

Current location: Jacksonville, Florida

www.bostonterriertn.org

Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee's Adoption Policy
For the Application and much more information, go to The Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee website, Boston Terrier Rescue of East TN at bostonterriertn.org and use the online application. We require both an adoption application & a contract. We check Vet references, interview families and do home visits. We ask for a nominal adoption donation to help us defray the medical expenses of the next homeless dog. It generally costs us more than we take in in fees per dog to completely vet a dog. Many come to us old and frail, often sick, making donations more critical. We are not subsidized by the government or any foundation, but rather by only a few very good people. We're delighted to get donations. Our adoption application is available on-line and we will generally respond within 24-48 hours to your application and answer any initial questions. Anyone wishing to adopt should complete the online application on bostonterriertn.org If you don't get an answer to an inquiry it's probably because your question was already answered in the bio -- and if the dog is still posted on our website, that means he/she is still available.
