Bertha's Story

Bertha is the best girl! She has lived a life as a breeding dog, having had 8 litters during her young years - all while on a chain in southwest Texas! She was saved by a young lady who only kept her for a while, then she was passed to friends and she eventually was forgotten and ended up at the county shelter as a stray.

Kerrville Pets Alive pulled her on her euthanasia date, and we had her spayed, vaccinated and we treated her heartworms - she's a healthy girl now! She loves everyone she meets, loves kids, walks great on a leash and loves belly rubs! We have had her evaluated with a trainer, and he feels as though with the proper structured home, she could co-exist with another dog that respects her boundaries. (Please watch her trainer video) We do feel like being the only dog is what she would prefer, because she loves her people! She could easily become a velcro dog... She's a very gentle girl, that doesn't know she's big, so she may bump into you when she's excited.

She loves - LOVES kids! She does NOT love cats, (hey, she's a dog!) Please give Bertha a chance to show you how much love she can give!

See Bertha's spay day video here! https://youtube.com/shorts/-rlnZLAeBAA?feature=share
