Bert & Ernie's Story

Bert and Ernie and 4 and 5 year old, 15-pound Chihuahua mixes who are discovering the joys of a new life. They came to us after living outdoors their entire lives. Before arriving here, these boys had never been on a walk, slept in a cozy bed, or even visited a vet. Despite such a rough start, they have shown a gentle spirit and a willingness to learn.

At first, Bert and Ernie can be timid, but with kindness and patience, their sweet and affectionate nature begins to shine through. They are already learning to walk on a leash and, while not fully confident yet, they are both making progress every day. The bros especially enjoy the comfort of their kennel beds, a simple luxury they never knew before.

Bert and Ernie are a bonded pair. Bert gains much of his confidence through Ernie, who reminds him that being brave results in the best neck scritches and love from their human friends! With love, structure, and patience, Bert and Ernie will blossom into the wonderful companions they were meant to be.

Bert and Ernie’s adoption fee of $400 covers essential services such as spaying/neutering, vaccinations, microchipping, and a complimentary wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital.

Please don't hesitate to schedule an appointment to meet Bert and Ernie by calling 602-971-1334.
