Meet Berry
Berry is a beautiful black Lab with a most delightful easy going, friendly and affectionate personality. He’s about five years old, a handsome 87 pounds, and spent several weeks in a crowded shelter overlooked as just another black dog. We saw a true gem of a Lab and our rescue partner helped get him safely to us.
Berry is house trained and has been okay crated, however his foster parents relate he would probably be fine with free roam of the home. He has shown off his ‘sit’ so far, walks pretty well on leash with a front clip type harness, rides nicely in the car, and is a friendly greeter who needs an occasional reminder to keep his paws earthbound. Berry gets along well with and is respectful of other dogs; we don’t know his feelings about cats. A typical food loving Lab, he’s a food gobbler and mighty interested in whatever you left out on the kitchen counter. Faves? Toys, retrieving, big time snuggling, food, and walks.
His foster parents add:
“Berry is very sweet and a big love bug. We love snuggling with him. He’s a handsome boy who is very curious about everything going on and is very cooperative and easy going.
“He has been mellow and seems to prefer attention from people. He’s a Lab who likes his naps too. We have had no trouble with his interactions with our dog, but she likes to keep to herself. He enjoys sitting on the couch with us and snuggling. Berry is very interested in food and the goings on in the kitchen. He hasn’t gotten into anything, but it would be good to put edible things away.
“We think Berry would be fine with or without another dog in the family. His new family needs to appreciate that he needs exercise as any Lab does to feel and look his best – long daily walks, games of fetch, hikes. They also need to appreciate he is a larger Lab.”

NOTE: Berry requires a 6 foot fence in his new home. He can get over one that is lower.
