Bernie is a very sweet and gentle Shepherd mix puppy, around 10 months old and 57 lbs. Everyone agrees he's quite handsome, and he turns heads everywhere he goes! Bernie is a very affectionate dog who loves to be petted and cuddled. With his gentle nature and soulful energy, everyone loves him. He's great with people, including young children, and is patient and friendly. He enjoys meeting new people and canine friends, and people are always instantly smitten with his soulful nature! He is even good with cats, horses, and bunnies! <br/><br/>Bernie loves playing with other dogs and has yet to meet a dog he doesn’t love! He also enjoys being outdoors and is happy to chase balls and run around but is also content to just hang out and relax. A laid back guy, Bernie is very well behaved and doesn’t get into trouble in the house. He enjoys playing with his toys and is just an all around good boy! <br/><br/>This handsome boy is very smart and knows basic commands. He has been working on his recall, walks beautifully on leash, and is housetrained. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. <br/><br/>We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources.
