Meet Bernie 🐾<br/>Bernie is a sweet, soulful 12-year-old beagle mix who is looking for his forever home to spend his golden years. Bernie once had a very loving life with his devoted mom. As she began experiencing health issues, Bernie was cared for by a kind young woman who helped walk him and keep him company during hospital stays. Sadly, Bernie’s world changed when his mom passed away unexpectedly in her sleep.<br/><br/>Stepping up without hesitation, the young woman who had helped care for Bernie opened her home to him so he would be safe and loved. While Bernie has been a wonderful house guest, his temporary family works full time and recently welcomed a new baby, leaving less time than Bernie deserves.<br/><br/>Bernie is truly a gem. He gets along beautifully with babies, children, other dogs, and even cats. His favorite pastime is lounging on the couch with his people, soaking up love and companionship. He’s happiest indoors, cuddled up and part of the family.<br/><br/>Bernie does have a sensitive tummy, so he needs limited treats, and he takes a small pill morning and night for a manageable thyroid condition. In return, you’ll get a gentle, happy boy who just wants to be near his people.<br/><br/>Bernie would thrive in a home where someone is around often and where he can enjoy quiet days, cozy couches, and the attention he’s been missing.
