Meet Berkeley
This handsome fella is Berkeley, who’s just 6 weeks away from celebrating his 2nd birthday – maybe with you? Berkeley’s owners had to move from a home with a large yard and place for Berkeley to play, to a townhome with only a patio “yard" and no place to walk or play that isn’t concrete. They are working long hours and have realized this isn’t the best life for an active young Rottweiler.
I haven’t met Berkeley yet in person (hopefully this weekend – he’s not far away in Bothell), but am told he’s a friendly boy who’s good with other dogs (dog park, and friends that bring their dogs over). He’s good with the family cat too (raised with her, and just ignores her). He’s good with older children (raised with a now-12 yo and 16 yo) and is friendly to all he meets, although he can be a little standoffish with new people; but warms up quickly and remembers them the next time they visit. He also can be a little jealous of his favorite people, and a few times has exhibited some mild resource guarding behavior to keep others away from his kids or favorite person when they’re relaxing in the living room.
Berkeley is house trained and crate trained (knows “go to your house”) and has basic obedience (sit, down, fetch), with good leash manners. He is very playful and loves playing fetch with his tennis balls, his chew toys, and going to the park.
Berkeley is looking for a home with someone willing and able to continue working with him on training and fun adventures.
He’s a good boy and just needs a little polish to be your best boy. He would be an awesome hiking buddy, agility competitor, scent work champ (barn hunt would be a blast for him) or any number of fun things – our dogs thrive when we spend time with them doing fun things and learning new skills. Are you Berkeley’s new person?
