I’m working on that too.
• I crate well once settled, but I prefer knowing where my people are. I’m still building confidence being alone.

The Important Stuff:
I have a scar on my lip from a past scuffle. It’s healed, but it tells a story. Whatever my early chapters looked like, I didn’t always win.

Despite that, I am gentle. Submissive. Kind.

I do wonderfully with other dogs and would likely thrive with a confident canine buddy. I take cues well and don’t start drama.

Heelers aren’t for everyone — we’re smart, loyal, and emotionally intense — but I’m in my mellow 3-year-old era. I’m not a wild puppy. I’m a thoughtful project dog who will absolutely blossom with someone willing to invest in me.

Who I’m Looking For
• A home without chickens
• A secure yard (remember… former Olympic door bolter)
• Someone who appreciates loyalty
• Someone patient and consistent
• Possibly a dog friend (or two)
• A human who wants a shadow, a sidekick, and a best friend

I am not a “plug and play” golden retriever.

I am a loyal, slightly sensitive, incredibly devoted heeler who will bond deeply with my person.

And if you’re the right person?

I will be your dog.
Quirks and all. 💙

Hi. I’m BENTLEY.
I’m a 3-year-old heeler with a soft heart, a loyal soul, and just enough quirks to keep life interesting.
Let’s get the basics out of the way:
✔️ Neutered
✔️ Heartworm negative (been there, beat that)
✔️ Up to date on everything
✔️ Great with dogs of all sizes and ages
✔️ Cat curious but respectful (have passed outside cat tests on leash)
❌ Not safe with chickens (they move… I react… it’s a whole thing)

Now that we’ve handled the résumé portion…

My Personality:
I am what you might call a Velcro gentleman.

I bond fast to my people. The ones who feed me, show me kindness, and speak gently? Those are my forever humans. I will follow you room to room like your quiet, devoted assistant.

I love to lay next to you while you watch TV or work on the computer. Not in an anxious way — just in a “we’re a team, right?” kind of way.

EPIC Outreach's Adoption Policy
EPIC Outreach is committed to helping both pet pigs and people build a long-lasting happy and healthy relationship for the lifetime of the pig. EPIC serves to be a resource of information to help pet pig parents keep their pet pig for its lifetime. Occasionally EPIC will have pet pigs available for adoption. Each pig available will have specific needs and personalities. EPIC works primarily with animal control and government agencies who take in potbelly pigs and/or mixes that are strays, are confiscated from cruelty/hoarding situations, or are abandoned. Often the pigs have unknown histories. Each pig available for adoption will have been vetted and evaluated for health and behavior needs. Each pig’s home expectations will be shared transparently. Before you ADOPT Thank you for doing your research before adopting a pet pig. While pigs are clean and social, they do have emotional and physical needs to be met for a happy and healthy life. Before you ADOPT, please consider the following: A pet pig (potbelly and/or mix) can live 10-20 years and needs to be a lifetime commitment. Where do you live? If you live in a residential home have you checked county ordinances and your HOA. A county ordinance might allow a pet pig, but your HOA might say no. Do you have the time? Pigs love to have their mind stimulated. Without proper mental stimulation they can be destructive. Providing a pet pig with things to do is very important. For more information on how pigs make great pets please read this great article written by Founder Jessie Miller: PIGS MAKE GREAT PETS. Please also read the following about the basic care of a pet pig: LEARNING TO CARE FOR YOUR PET PIG. If you’re still interested in adopting a pet pig and you think you’re a great fit home for one of the available pigs listed below please email Jessie at epicanimals2015@gmail.com. EPIC Outreach’s adoption process is an OPEN CONCEPT and will start with a conversation and then arrange a meet and greet with your potential new pet pig. We look forward to meeting you and talking all things PIGS!
