Nearly five months of watching people walk past their kennel. Nearly five months of wondering when it will finally be their turn.

Road to Home Rescue was introduced to this shelter through one of our rescue affiliates, and when we learned about Bentley and Adeline, we couldn’t turn our backs on them.

Bentley is about 1½ years old and weighs 52 lbs. He was found with a chain embedded in his neck, so severe it required surgical removal. Thanks to shelter advocates who refused to give up on him, Bentley is fully healed — but the emotional scars of his past can’t be erased. Despite everything, Bentley is incredibly outgoing and hasn’t met a soul he didn’t love. His heart is big, forgiving, and still full of trust.

Adeline, also about 1½ years old and 50 lbs, has shared a kennel with Bentley this entire time. Their bond is undeniable.
While they do not have to be adopted together, our hearts would love nothing more than to see them placed in the same home.
