UPDATED 02/20/2026 Hi! My name is Bentley! I'm a 7-year old male tricolor beagle. I'm a very special guy & I need a special home! I'm a very loving dog! I love to sleep & cuddle! I love to be petted! I'm also active! I like to walk! I want to sleep in bed with you at night! But I'm also pretty insecure. I really need to be close to my person. I'm housetrained, & I'm used to going outside 3-4 times a day. I'll scratch at the door or beg to let you know I need to go outside. I'm not crate trained & I don't like the crate at all. I get worked up when people try to leave me - even if you just want to leave the room. When you do that, I'll block your path & nip/bite at your clothing. I guess I have some issues ... but who doesn't? I really need a patient person who can work with me. I would do best in home with one person who is home all or most of the time. I'm fine with cats & other dogs. However, I don't do that well with bigger, more dominant dogs - they intimidate me! But I'm fine with dogs my size & smaller, & bigger dogs that don't try to boss me around. I also don't like anyone messing with my food. I'm sure you understand ... I mean it's my food & you know how beagles are about their food. I'm fine when I go to the groomers, although I will howl when you turn the blow dryer on! I weigh about 30 lbs. Anyways, I really need a a very patient & loving home with a person who is willing to try to understand me & work with me. Are you it????? Please think about making me part of your family if you are! Nittany Beagle Rescue's Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescue dog & Nittany Beagle Rescue! We are a foster-home based rescue. We hold showings on the 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month at Lyons Kennels in Bellefonte, PA from 11am - 1pm. You can meet some of our dogs then! Please email or send a PM on our FB page if you want to know if a particular dog will be at the showing. If you are interested in a particular dog, or a type of dog, please submit an application to foster or adopt (it's the same application form). Once you have an approved application for a dog, we will connect you with the dog's foster parent. Typically the potential adopter & foster talk on the telephone first. Then if the dog seems like a good fit, we arrange a personal meet & greet.
