Bentley's Story

Owner surrender on 5/23/26.
Bentley is 6 years old, housebroken, plays politely with older children, young children unknown, he lived with cats and another dog but the previous owner said he didn't really like them so we are recommending no cats. He does great with other dogs out and about and would be great as a hiking companion.

Update: Went to Pooch Plunge event and had a great time. Did well in the car and was great meeting lots of other people. Put his paws in the water but didn't want to jump in.

Update 10/14/26- Bentley also enjoys jumping over agility jumps. He is very eager to please and likes to do tricks and commands. He is very people centered and treat motivated. He is a really good dog.

Montgomery County SPCA's Adoption Policy
At the Montgomery County SPCA, we are dedicated to finding responsible, forever homes for all the pets in our care. To that end, we have created a thorough adoption process which helps us achieve this goal. This process includes a check of veterinary history records on any pets you currently have, and a home visit. If you rent your home, we require written proof (letter or lease) from your landlord that you are allowed to have pets. We undertake this kind of thorough review to ensure that animals who have already been discarded at least once will never have to experience this again.
