Bentley's Story
Meet Bentley, a handsome plus-sized Leonberger/ German Shepherd mix (We believe that's his mix) who was found on a resident's property. Unfortunately, Bentley was not claimed by his family and is seeking a new home. Bentley has a friendly personality and is generally well behaved. He is clean in his kennel and also enjoys his time outdoors playing with his handlers. Bentley loves a good game of fetch and when he is tired and done goes back to his kennel with no issues. He is very food motivated and knows some obedience commands. Bentley is currently on a fitness and weight loss plan to help him reduce to a healthy weight. Bentley is a little head shy so reaching over his head scares him, he is best suited in an experienced home with no small children.

Bentley is 4 years old, neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. He is 46kg (101lbs).

First and foremost a family dog, the Leonberger's temperament is one of its most important and distinguishing characteristics. Well socialized and trained, the Leonberger is self-assured, insensitive to noise, submissive to family members, friendly toward children, well composed with passersby, and self-disciplined when obliging its family or property with protection. Robust, loyal, intelligent, playful, and kindly, they can thus be taken anywhere without difficulty and adjust easily to a variety of circumstances, including the introduction of other dogs.[2] Proper control and early socialization and training are essential, as this is a giant breed.

German Shepherds offer benefits like high intelligence, trainability, loyalty, and protective instincts, but they require owners to meet high demands for exercise, training, and socialization to manage their energy, prevent anxiety, and avoid behavioral issues.

If you would like to adopt a pet, call Caledon Animal Services at 905-584-2272 x4698. Our team will conduct a telephone interview and arrange adoption paperwork digitally. If approved, staff will arrange an appointment to meet the pet before finalizing the adoption.

Caledon Animal Services
12889 Coleraine Drive
Bolton ON
905-584-2272 x4698
888-225-3366 x4698
email: animal.services@caledon.ca
website: caledon.ca/animalservices

Adoption Hours:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday 11:00am – 4:00pm
Tuesday, Thursday 11:00am – 6pm
Saturday 11:00am - 2:00pm
