Benson (or Benny as some call him) was in the shelter for many months before he was pulled into ATD. He came from a very rough background consisting of irresponsible dog owners. For this reason Benny can be very standoffish and nervous towards strangers. His perfect adopter would need to have an understanding that he may need multiple meetings in order for Benny to be comfortable. Otherwise when Benny comes out of his shell he loves affection, he is smart, well mannered and easy ! Benny does well with most dogs and may do better with a dog in the home that understands his boundaries (will need a meet and greet).
