Benny

Benny is a sharpei mix, and is about 2 years old. We know he looks like a puppy because of his chunky face, but this handsome boy is full grown at just 29 pounds! <br/><br/>Benny came to our rescue back in January from a hoarding situation. He was listed as “shy” in the shelter. After spending a lot of time with Benny, and evaluating his behavior and tendencies, we began to believe he had been abused. He was extremely fearful of humans, however, he has come so far in the last few months! <br/><br/>Benny has completed heartworm treatment, is microchipped, up to date on shots, and has been neutered. However, Benny is still working on his confidence with people, but makes more improvement each and every day. Now that he is in good health, we would love for Benny to find a family who’s looking for a laid back dog like him, and who will continue to teach him that he can trust humans. <br/><br/>Some more info about Benny: <br/>- very laid back, enjoys sleeping most of the day (couch potato)!<br/>- has great leash manners, but is still building confidence with loud surroundings in the outside world<br/>- potty and crate trained<br/>- very gentle player with both toys and other dogs<br/>-cat and small critter friendly<br/>- he is still learning that human touch is not bad! He will take treats from you all day long, and has slowly begun to allow some face scratches, (which he really enjoys)! <br/><br/>Some things we are looking for in Benny’s perfect home:<br/><br/>- must have another dog in the home. Benny builds a ton of his confidence with the help of another dog to follow after.
