Benny #1212's Story

Meet BIG ENERGY Benny the red with the striking blue eyes and precious freckles. Benny is an active 9-10 month old 40lb neutered male. He is ALL in for love and attention, like 100% this dog loves hard. He has never met a stranger and still believes he should greet you with a bear hug and also should be a lap dog- because why not? A day in the life of Benny: he will wade in the pool but not much of a swimmer. Next on his agenda: he will chase a ball but might get distracted by something else exciting in the yard. He likes structure, but not necessarily following the rules (he's a smart one). Like he puts his paws on the counter to get a better vantage point- whatcha doing? He is a vocal guy- barks to come inside if you accidentally leave him outside to potty too long, barks when let out of the crate because he's excited to see you, barks when put in the crate, play barks with his foster dog family. He is not a watch dog, however, because he wouldn't dare bark at the delivery guy unless the other dogs convince him to do so. Remember he just wants to give that guy a hug. Benny is completely housebroken, chooses toys over furniture but might carry around a shoe if left out. This guy has done great with his crate training. He crates when left alone and may bark a little but a chew bone keeps him busy. He sleeps up to 11 hours in a crate in the room with his human and dog family. Benny walks great on a leash after he shakes out the first minute of excitement for going on a walk. His exhuberance for life might be a bit overwelming for younger kids or cats- so we recommend that his fur-ever home has experienced dog owners. Benny currently loves playing with the younger dog in his foster home (respects boundaries of the senior dogs) and would love a playmate who matches his energy. What does that look like? Well right now its octane levels of chase through the yard and house where he might scale some furniture, then hit the floor with bitey face wrestlemania, toss a hard bone in the air for attention and then crash out at your feet when done. So you might ask- does BIG ENERGY Benny have an off switch? Yes! He loves to snuggle up on the couch (or your feet) after he burns off his desire for action. He will put his head in your lap for an entire first half of a football game just to be with his people. If you are thinking about bringing Benny into your family here's what we would love for you to consider: Are you ready to implement obedience training to streamline his puppy behavior (jumping, paws on counter)? Are you willing to have slow introductions with a pet at home to ensure they enjoy each others energy? Are you able to spend time daily with activity, social and mental interaction to help him thrive? If this in-your-face ridiculously handsome boy is calling your name then it's time to submit an application so Benny can run into the arms of his forever family. I mean, his picture on your holiday cards is screaming AWWEEE. Benny is currently fostered in the DFW metroplex and will require a meet and greet. All applications may be submitted though our website: www.bcrrt.com

Our Mission
We are a network of volunteer foster homes, which means all dogs adopted through us come from loving, caring homes straight to you. Since we don’t use a holding facility, our dogs come to their new homes calm, relaxed, and ready for a new life, rather than being nervous and traumatized from the noise and chaos of a shelter....
