He came to us after some neglect and severe malnourishment.<br/><br/>He’s a bit shy at first with new people, but once he warms up, you’ll discover his goofy side: silly zoomies, dramatic “flop and roll” cuddles, and a knack for making you laugh when you least expect it. He gets along great with other dogs, and is even respectful with cats.<br/><br/>While he’s a gentle soul, Benji does have a few quirks. He’s protective of his food and prefers to eat undisturbed, as well chill out in his kennel without any disturbances. So a patient, understanding home is key. Because of past trauma, he’s also sensitive around his neck area and prefers not to be grabbed by his collar; gentle handling is essential for his comfort and trust. He loves kids. A home with older kids (only) would be best. He also needs a fenced-in yard since he won’t potty while on a chain (a gentleman with standards!)<br/><br/>Some of his favorite things?
