Benji's Story

Please consider opening your heart and home to this great guy.
He is the sweetest, most adorable black pittie. Benji is approximately 3 years old, a 67-pound pit bull who was saved from a high-kill shelter in California just in the nick of time. He is easy to get along with and well-mannered. Benji has the potential to do well with other dogs. Slow introductions are required, but he would also thrive in a home with no other dogs. Benji would not do well in a house with cats.

Benji deserves a loving foster or adoptive home! He is an adorable boy who loves to play, enjoys toys, and loves to cuddle. He needs to be an only dog or needs a family willing and able to give him time to decompress from shelter life by keeping him separate from their existing pack for a couple of weeks. Benji is now patiently waiting to find his forever home where he can continue to heal and thrive in a loving, structured environment.

When Benji was at the shelter, he had surgery for a necrotic femoral head but has since recovered. Although he is younger, Benji will need to remain on a pain management plan for his arthritis, which has been well managed through pain medication. He doesn't let it slow him down, however, and loves to play.
