Benji is a sweet, loyal 55-pound boy who loves being close to his people. This calm and affectionate boy is fully house-trained, polite around the home, and has the most adorable wiggly zoomies. He's curious, alert, and friendly with both people and dogs, warming up quickly to new faces with his gentle, snuggly nature.<br/><br/>Benji walks beautifully on leash in most environments, but his strong prey drive kicks into high gear around squirrels-it becomes his singular focus. He's still learning about play and enjoys squeaky toys and tug of war. When he sees other dogs on walks, he gets excited and wants to meet them, often putting his paws up to play.<br/><br/>This boy does have some separation anxiety and has shown some stress-related behaviors that his next family needs to understand. After a stressful day he can get overstimulated when overwhelmed, tired, or uncomfortable. He needs a calm, experienced home that can recognize his stress signals, give him space when needed, and work with a trainer on building his confidence.<br/><br/>Benji thrives with routine, patient handling, and opportunities to run. If you have dog experience (especially with herding breeds) and can provide the structure and understanding he needs, this loyal companion would love to meet you.
