Benji's Story

**ADOPTERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO COME TO THE HOUSTON AREA** -- if this does not fit your plans, please do not inquire as dogs will not be shipped. PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTIONS before inquiring**

You might have seen an urgent plea from Harris County Pets seeking rescue for a frightened pup who was not doing well at the shelter. Someone who saw the plea stepped up and volunteered to foster, which allowed us to pull him and get him out of that scary environment. The foster took him home and started the task of getting him settled. And she gave him a real name: Benji.

Benji has several challenges facing him. Besides being heartworm positive, he is blind and that seems to increase his anxiety. Benji’s foster has patiently been working with him on separation anxiety and he is doing better but still needs someone home more than not. Benji has sucessfully completed heartworm treatment and is ready for a furever home of his own. Is it with you?

Benji has been vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. His adoption donation will be $250 and includes 6 months heartworm preventative meds, free microchip registration, and a safety harness.

If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting Benji, please apply online at www.wsrh.com. Please do NOT send inquiries via Adopt A Pet or PetFinder as we are a small rescue and cannot handle a large number of inquiries. If you have a specific question, please email us at westiehouston@gmail.com but in order to be considered for adoption, you must complete an application.

All dogs are available until “Adoption Pending” is noted next to their names. WSRH DOES NOT HAVE A PUBLIC SHELTER. ALL OF OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN PRIVATE HOMES. Approved adopters only will be invited to meet the dogs.
